New Material

Bud was up a little before 8:00 this morning, and Buster soon after. M-lady and I got up with them, and had a pretty usual morning, getting Bud ready for school. The kids were generally happy and cooperative.

Buster has been a little reluctant to have his diaper changed recently, so we've taken to changing him on the floor more. He was OK about having his diaper changed this morning, though.

I took Bud to school, and we were a couple of minutes late, but not too far off. Bud trotted right in to class.

The kids had a good day with Nanny J, and M-lady got home to take the kids around 5:00. They were wrapping up dinner when I arrived home, and Bud was working in his 'dribbling': he was using Buster's stuffed cube, and trying to bounce it on the floor to approximate bouncing a basketball. He'd been thinking about, and then watching, High School Musical's basketball song/scene, so was apparently singing the song as he practiced.

I had a quick bite to eat, and Buster demanded donation from my plate. Buster ate pretty well, and after we wrapped up, we headed to the living room and sat down in front of the TV for a little while. I decided to pull up something different, so we watched part of Cirque Du Soliel's Quidam, starting with M-lady's favorite scene, Banquine. Bud loved it, and was rapt until it was time to start the bedtime routine. I wonder how much of it he's going to try to emulate.

Bud was a bit fragile through the bedtime routine. I ended up showering with him in his bathroom, which was fun for him since we got to pull the shower curtain closed. He was in bed around 8:40, and asleep in about 20 mintues. He woke once around 11:30 to ask for a cup of water, but went right back to sleep. Buster has slept soundly so far.

Sink Play

Bud got me out of bed sometime a little before 6:00, and I slept the rest of the night with him in his bed. Buster and M-lady came in and woke us up around 8:00; Buster had apparently gotten M-lady up around 7:00. We did a pretty standard morning routine, although I wasn't too rushed since I was taking the day off of work.

After Nanny J arrived while the kids were eating breakfast, I headed back upstairs to lie down for a little while. Bud joined me, and was in and out of the room checking on me for a while. When I got up again a little after 10:00, Buster was napping, and Bud and I spent some time hanging out together before lunch.

It was too hot for the kids to go to the park today, so they mostly played inside. At lunchtime Bud joined Nanny J and Buster, and I headed out to do some errands. They had a mellow afternoon, and Buster was napping again when I got back around 3:30. After settling in a little, we gave a call to Aunt K and family, and Bud got to play some Lego Star Wars with Cousin LR. Buster wanted to watch so much that he fussed until we plopped him on the couch with his own controller, and Nanny J fed him his snack there.

M-lady arrived home a short time after we finished up the game, and we all ran around a bit before starting on dinner. Everyone ate well, and we had homemade donuts for dessert. After eating, I had a nice chat with Grandma W while the kids played with M-lady. Buster, who is now opening doors, keeps going into the bathroom and waiting by the sink for someone to lift him up so he can play in the water. I obliged while I was on the phone, and Grandma W could hear him giggling over the line.

Bud and I watched an episode of Good Eats before having a snack and starting on the bedtime routine. Bud was great in the shower again, and in bed before 8:30. He was asleep a short time after the light went out.

Buster took a little longer to fall asleep, but both kids have been pretty quiet so far. Buster still has a little bit of a cough, but it's only seemed to bother him during strenuous activity. Hopefully it will clear up quickly.

Opening Doors

M-lady slept in Buster's room last night after he woke at about 2:00 and didn't want to go back to sleep without someone staying in his room with him. M-lady handed Buster over to me at about 7:00, and we sat in the hexagon for about half an hour reading stories before Bud wandered in.

The three of us headed downstairs and eventually got some breakfast. While the kids were eating, I switched places with M-lady, and headed back to bed for a little while as she watched the kids for a bit. They got started on the batter for waffles together, and I joined them after an hour and got down to business making waffles and bacon.

After breakfast, Buster went down for a brief nap, and I played with Bud for a bit. When everyone got back up, we had a nice video chat with Grandma Nese and Granddad B before the kids had a quick snack and we packed up and headed off to Stanford to visit with Dance Week friends and get Jamba Juice.

The kids were much admired at the dance week. Bud stayed pretty close to us, but Buster had no problems wandering off into the crowd, I suppose assuming we'd be following. After hanging out for about 15 minutes, we headed out to get Jamba.

Bud and M-lady shared a Jamba Juice, and Buster and I shared one. It was Buster's first Jamba, and he seemed to enjoy it. We all sat together a slurped on the edge of White Plaza for a bit before Buster started getting a little tired and cranky. So we headed back to the car, loaded up, and headed for home.

Buster screamed most of the way home, but declined to nap once we arrived. We all watched a little bit of the bond concert DVD before M-lady managed to get Buster to nap. Bud and I got started on a 3D castle puzzle together before I put some dinner together.

After dinner, Bud and Buster ran around the living room together for a while. M-lady ran a quick errand, and I played with the kids a little bit. When M-lady returned, we had a pretty standard bedtime routine with snack, quick shower, story and lights out for Bud.

Buster seems to have gotten the hang of getting doors open now, so tomorrow I'll be trying to figure out how to babyproof some of the doorknobs in the house.

Stronger Hint

Bud got me out of bed this morning just before 7:00, and Buster woke up a couple of minutes later. Bud and I went and retrieved Buster, who had a poopy diaper. He was pretty happy to be awake, though, and the three of us hung out together for a while in the hexagon before heading downstairs to get some breakfast around 8:00.

A short time later, M-lady came down and joined us, and I took the opportunity to go back to bed for a little while. M-lady had a good time with the kids, and they played together well. At about 10:00 I got up to help put Buster to sleep for his morning nap while M-lady and Bud read stories together in our bed.

A little before lunch M-lady and I started getting ready to head out to teach a dance lesson. Babysitter G arrived while I was making grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch, and she sat nearby as M-lady fed Buster. Buster ate pretty well, including about a third of M-lady's sandwich. He wasn't very happy when we left, though.

It was a hot day, and the kids stayed inside. Buster took about an hour nap, and he was very unhappy to find Babysitter G still there when he woke up. He was pretty unhappy when M-lady and I arrived home around 5:00.

I took Babysitter G home, and Bud came with us. We had a nice chat, and Bud let me know that they had a good time despite Buster being a bit fussy. When Bud and I got home, M-lady revealed that Buster had a bit of a diaper/heat rash, which probably contributed to his grumpiness.

We all had some dinner, and Buster just kept eating. He was really hungry, having skipped his usual afternoon snack. After dinner Bud and Buster and I spent some time watching the Bond concert DVD. Eventually, Buster wandered out and came back with his bib, his usual sign that he's hungry. When I didn't immediately respond, he wandered out and came back lugging the tray for his high chair.

I took the hint and got him some more food, and he just kept eating. Bud had a snack as well. M-lady and I each grabbed a short nap before I took a quick shower with Bud and did the bedtime routine.

Bud was in bed around 8:30, and we turned out the lights pretty quickly. Buster was exhausted, and fell asleep almost as soon as M-lady put him down. Babysitter G arrived again around 8:30, and M-lady and I returned to the Stanford for the evening dance event. Both kids have stayed asleep so far this evening, so the the second tour of duty by Babysitter G today was considerably easier.

A Non-Star Wars Evening

Buster was up this morning a bit before 8:00, and Bud a bit after 8:00. M-lady and I had a pretty standard morning with them, and they were eating breakfast when Nanny J arrived at about 8:45, and the two of us departed for work.

The kids apparently had a good time at the park, although at some point Buster got a bit frustrated while they were there and tried to bite Bud. Bud was good and didn't retaliate, but did get pretty upset.

Buster apparently only had a short nap in the afternoon, but Nanny J found some time to work on math with Bud. He seems to be getting the hang of basic addition. Both kids seemed pretty happy when M-lady and I arrived home shortly after 5:00.

After Nanny J left, the four of us played together in the living room a bit before getting started on dinner. The kids ate pretty well, although Buster tried to pack in a little too much and had a barf at the end of the meal. After dinner, M-lady made a quick run out to Target, and the boys and I watched a little bit of Good Eats.

M-lady arrived home just as we were wrapping up, so Buster took off to hang out with her while I got a snack for Bud and started the bedtime routine. The quick shower again went really well, and Bud was in bed around 8:30. The lights went out close to 9:00, but Bud fell asleep pretty quickly. Both kids have slept quietly so far.

Buster does have just a little bit of a cough, but it doesn't seem to bad. Hopefully it doesn't develop into the cough that Bud had for weeks.

An Evening Shop

Bud got me out of bed around 2:30, and I managed to get back to my own bed a little before 5:00. Buster was up around 7:00, and M-lady got up when she heard him saying, "Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma..." He hasn't really linked that sound to M-lady, but she thought she should encourage it.

I got up a little before 8:00 to help out with Buster and to get Bud out of bed and moving, since he needed to get ready for school again this morning. He was a little sluggish at first, but got moving pretty quickly. We all headed down for breakfast a bit before 8:30.

M-lady took Bud to school, and I stayed home with Buster while Nanny J had a doctor's appointment this morning. Buster was really well behaved while I took a call at 9:00, and we looked out the window together for a while as I talked. That wrapped up around 9:30, and Buster seemed a little tired, so I tried putting him down for his morning nap. He fell asleep pretty quickly, and Nanny J arrived about five minutes later.

M-lady got home before I did, and the family was having dinner when I got home. Bud had apparently come home from school chock full on information about the Statue of Liberty, and told M-lady all about it. A short time after dinner he asked me what a republic was, and I discovered that he's been reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in school as well.

Bud and I went grocery shopping after dinner, which was fun. Bud decided not to ride in the cart, and did a good job of staying reasonably close but not clinging. He was pretty energetic through the whole trip, and well behaved the entire time. He enjoyed getting to pick out some of the fruit.

We headed home, unloaded the groceries, had a snack, and then a shower and did the bedtime routine. Bud was great in the quick shower, but had a minor meltdown afterward when I deemed it too late to play Lego Star Wars. We did a story and video instead, and the lights went out around 8:45, which seems to be becoming our usual time.

Both kids have slept quietly so far tonight.

Dinner Entertainment

Buster woke once this morning around 4:00, and M-lady sat with him for a few minutes while he fell back to sleep. He then woke around 6:45, and M-lady changed his diaper and then handed him to me. We played in his hexagon for a while, and then he was willing to hang out in his crib while I sat on the couch next to him.

Bud found us there around 7:30 or so. He was interested in going downstairs, so we all headed down and played there for a little while. Around 8:00, Buster went and grabbed his bib and brought it back to me, a clear indication that he was hungry. So I got him his morning milk and some cereal, and Bud had his usual breakfast at the same time.

M-lady joined us a bit after 8:00, and I was able to lie down for a few minutes to straighten out my back. Bud joined me as I got dressed, and we got him dressed as well before I got myself packed up to head to work. Buster once again tried to put his shoes on and accompany me out the door.

Nanny J took them to the park this morning, and Bud met a couple of his friends there. He exhausted himself running around with them to the point where he almost couldn't walk home. Buster ran around too, and amused himself by picking up piece of trash and giving them to Nanny J.

I arrived home around 5:00, and Nanny J took her leave a short time later. The three of us played together for a bit, and played a little bit of a Burnout variant, which Bud enjoyed quite a bit. Once again, Buster started getting hungry, so I got started on making dinner around 6:00. Bud helped as we prepared spaghetti, and we sat down to eat before M-lady arrived home.

I gave a few full-length noodles to Buster, who had a great time trying to pick them up, eat them, and occasionally hurl them about the room. He was also willing to eat spoonfuls of cut-short noodles with sauce. Bud ate his dinner, then had a second helping. So all in all it was a pretty successful dinner, although Buster required a fair bit of cleanup.

M-lady arrived home as we were finishing up dinner. Bud and I each had an ice cream cone for dessert, and Buster demanded licks of my cone. He's getting pretty good at indicating what he wants now.

After dinner I convinced Bud to take another quick shower, and we again watched some TV before heading up to bed. Bud protested as the lights went out, but was asleep pretty quickly, a little before 9:00. Both kids have slept quietly so far.

Stairwrangling

Buster was up this morning fairly early, and M-lady got up with him. I joined them at about 8:00, as they were waking Bud up. Bud had his first summer school session today, and so had to get ready for that. I helped get him dressed and pointed downstairs for some breakfast.

Nanny J arrived a little early, and she followed M-lady and Bud to the school drop off to make sure she knew where to pick up Bud. She took Buster with her, so the house was a bit quiet as I left for work a few minutes later.

Bud apparently had a good day at school. Teacher Nancy, who was one of the teachers he had last year, is one of the teachers for the summer session, and Bud was happy to see her. There's also one boy from his previous class, but apparently they didn't play together today, although Bud commented on his presence.

M-lady got home first today, and everyone seemed to be in a good mood when I got home about an hour later. M-lady let me know that Nanny J reported that Buster said "No" today, although he didn't repeat for us this evening. It doesn't count as his first word, but we're still waiting for "Mama" and "Baba".

I tried to do a little bit of rambunctious play with the kids in the living room, but Buster was more interested in the staircase, so we practiced going up and down. The whole family got involved, which was kind of fun. Buster seems to be negotiating the stairs pretty well. We're not going to take the gates down soon, but it's nice to know that he can negotiate the steps.

After playing on the stairs a little bit, we got started on dinner. Buster ate well, but Bud only ate about half his dinner before deciding he was done. He didn't eat anything else this evening, so I guess he wasn't too hungry. After dinner Bud and I played a little bit of Lego Indiana Jones, and then headed upstairs for a bath.

I convinced Bud to do a quick shower in his bathtub, and he was in and out in about 5 minutes instead of our usual 30 or so for a bath. Since we saved so much time, we were able to go back downstairs after getting PJs on and watch some TV together. Around 8:30 we headed upstairs, read stories, and turned out the light at about 8:45. Bud fell asleep pretty quickly.

Both kids have slept quietly so far this evening. Again, it's really nice that the kids are generally sleeping through the night.

Getting Ready to Go

Buster woke this morning around 6:00, but M-lady managed to get him to go back to sleep. Bud got up around 7:00, though, and found M-lady in Buster's room. He managed to get her without waking Buster up, which was a pretty impressive accomplishment.

M-lady generously took care of the kids this morning, since I had been up until nearly 5:00 working on a project for work. I got out of bed around 8:30, and helped corral the kids for a few minutes before Nanny J arrived. I managed to get Bud dressed before we headed downstairs, and Buster seemed pretty pleased to see Nanny J.

When Buster saw me putting my shoes on to head to work a few minutes later, he headed for the shoe rack, grabbed his shoes, and sat down, with all the intention of figuring out how to put them on. He was a bit upset when I left but he couldn't come.

I got home a little after 5:00, and both kids seemed pretty excited to see me. Even though it was a hot day, Bud had gotten dressed in his heavy wool sweater which he wears as part of his Jedi costume. He looked a bit hot. We said our goodbyes to Nanny J, and then the three of us bounced around the living room for a bit before heading upstairs and watching some YouTube videos until M-lady arrived home a short time later.

M-lady got the kids started on dinner while I finished up work, and I joined them a short time later. Buster was drinking lots of water and enjoying spreading his Puffet around. Bud ate reasonably well, and entertained himself by pretending to spray for bugs while I finished up my meal and tithed to Buster.

I got Buster cleaned up, and we sat in front of the TV for a few minutes before getting started on the bedtime routine. Bud decided not to have a snack this evening, but managed to still be a bit uncooperative during the bath and PJs part of the evening. He was in bed around 8:30, and fell asleep pretty quickly once the lights went out. Both kids have slept quietly so far.

Ribs and Corn Bread

Bud woke first this morning, sometime before 8:00, and M-lady got up with him. She was kind enough to take care of the kids, letting me sleep in, although Bud came to check on me (noisily) a couple of times. I finally managed to roll out of bed around 10:00, when Buster was going down for a quick morning nap.

I spent some time hanging out with Bud while M-lady dashed to the store to pick up some buttermilk, and then we got started on a serious breakfast. M-lady made up the batter for the waffles, and I cooked them along with some bacon. Everyone enjoyed the breakfast, although we had it around 11:30, so it was more of a lunch.

After cleaning up, we packed up and headed off to the mall for a quick walk around. I had fun picking out some items using a gift card I'd received for Williams-Sonoma, and we all had a good time checking out the Lego store. But everyone was getting a little tired, so we headed home, where M-lady crashed for a nap.

I watched a little bit of TV with Bud and Buster, but Buster was getting tired, so I put him down for a nap. Bud had a little meltdown (since I was taking care of Buster and not playing with him), and stormed off to his room. After Buster fell asleep I checked on him, and discovered that he'd fallen asleep, too. So I got some work done while the house was quiet.

People started getting up around 4:00, and at about 4:15 I went to wake Bud so he could play some videogames with Granddad B and Cousin LR. Bud was still a bit grumpy, so I played with them myself. Buster made an appearance on the video chat, and waved at everyone.

Bud came down and said hello, but was still a bit grumpy and didn't play. We wrapped up to deal with dinner before too long, since the kids seemed to be hungry.

Bud had his heart set on Armadillo Willy's, so we phoned in an order and Bud and I went to pick it up. Unfortunately, they'd just had a run on the cornbread muffins, so Bud and I had to wait a bit for the next batch to come out of the oven. We hustled home with the food when we got it, and everyone enjoyed the meal.

Bud thinks ribs are great, and ate all of his own and some of M-lady's. Buster ate just about a whole corn muffin, but wasn't interested in my BBQ pork. He managed to get pretty messy, and Bud had BBQ sauce on his nose, so I got both kids into the shower after dinner and got 'em cleaned up.

Bud and I watched a little bit of TV after the shower, had a quick snack, and headed for bed. Bud was a bit disappointed to go to bed, but was tucked in a bit before 9:00. He snuck out of bed about 20 minutes later, but went back easily enough. Both kids have slept quietly since then.

Kung Fu Kid

Bud got me out of bed around 6:45, and I went and laid down with him in his bed. He wasn't interested in going to sleep again, though, and poked and chatted with me for an hour before I got up and delivered him to M-lady, who was playing in the hexagon with Buster by that point. I headed back to bed for a while, and M-lady took care of the kids and got them breakfast, letting me sleep for the most part. Bud did wander in to loudly check on me from time to time, though.

I got up and joined them mid-morning, right around the time Buster was going down for his nap. Bud and I hung out together for a little while, and

We had some lunch around noon, and got Bud ready for his class. A little before 1:00 we all packed up and headed to the nearby Kung Fu studio, where Bud joined a 3-5 year old class. There were three instructors for five students, and they gave Bud a lot of personal attention, making sure he usually had a good idea of what he was supposed to be doing.

Bud did great, showing really good coordination and observation abilities. He could stand to work on his flexibility a little bit, but that's something he should be able to improve dramatically pretty quickly. And overall, it seemed he had a really good time.

After class, he stated that he was interested in coming back. Unfortunately, he should probably stay in the 3-5 class for a couple of sessions before he's in a general age session, and we won't be able to make it back to the class for a couple weeks due to conflicts. But we'll try and do some practicing at home.

Buster had been anxious to wander around and explore while Bud was taking his class, and was a bit peeved when we wouldn't let him out onto the studio floor. And he got really angry when we loaded him up into the car to go home. But he refused to sleep when I tried to put him down for a nap when we did get home.

We got up and played together for a little while, and then I tried to get him to nap again around 3:00. This time he went down for a 40 minute nap. Bud and M-lady had been chilling out in our bed together for a while, and eventually Bud came downstairs to hang out with me and watch a little TV before M-lady and I started getting ready to go out for a date.

Babysitter G arrived at 5:00. Bud wasn't shy at all, and immediately engaged her, showing her what he did during his Kung Fu class. Buster was a little more wary, but didn't get upset until M-lady and I left. He apparently cried for about 30 seconds, and then was fine.

Buster decided not to eat dinner (he doesn't like eating from strangers right now), and ended up going to bed pretty early. So he may wake up early, and hungry. Bud enjoyed watching some TV with Babysitter G, and ended up going to bed around 8:20. He woke shortly after we got home and asked for some water, but went back to sleep pretty quickly.

Working on Spoon Skills

Bud again woke me around 4:00ish this morning, and I slept with him in his bed for about 90 minutes before returning to my own bed. M-lady got up with Buster around 7:45 or so, and Bud was up around 8:00.

The morning was pretty standard. Nanny J apparently took the kids to the park, which they enjoyed. It was a pretty hot day, and both kids had been running around a little bit, so they were sweaty when I arrived home around 5:15. Buster let me know that he needed a bath since he was sweaty. Buster also apparently decided not to take an afternoon nap again today.

M-lady arrived home as Nanny J was leaving, and all we had fun playing in the living room together. Both Buster and Bud enjoyed being swung around a little bit, and giggled at the resulting dizziness. Bud is also doing really well with standing on my shoulders, and enjoyed practicing that stunt more this evening.

Buster and I had a nice video chat with Granddad B and Grandma Nese, although Bud had a minor meltdown and refused to come say Hello. We'll try again in a couple days. Buster was generally content and interactive, though. He was getting a bit grumpy towards the end of the chat, and we signed off and got started on dinner.

Both kids ate pretty well. Buster has been pretty adamant about feeding himself recently, so I set him up with a bowl and a spoon and doled out pieces of his dinner in the bowl for him. He would mash them with the spoon for a bit, then grab a piece with his hand and stick it in his mouth.

After dinner Bud and I sat down in front of the TV for a little while, and M-lady decided to take Buster out for a run to CostCo. They ended up not getting back until Bud and I were already in bed reading stories, at about 8:30 or so. M-lady put Buster on an accelerated bedtime routine, but he was up a bit past his bedtime.

Bud was asleep a bit before 9:00 after a pretty standard bedtime routine. Both kids have slept quietly so far tonight.

Exploration

Bud got me out of bed this morning around 5:00, and I slept in his room with him until about 6:45. When I got back to my bed, M-lady was gone, taking care of Buster, who'd woken with a poopy diaper a little after 6:00, and was anxious to play.

When I got up around 7:45, Buster was carefully taking everything out of my drawer in the bathroom, and spreading the items out on the floor. He was examining everything very carefully. We eventually got him to put most of the stuff back; it will be interesting to see if he goes back there for entertainment, or starts looking in other drawers.

Bud slept in, and was still sleeping when M-lady and I left for work. I asked him about that when I got home, and he talked about sleeping late because he woke up and got me out of bed.

I got home around 5:00, and both boys seemed happy to see me. Buster immediately waved bye-bye to Nanny J when I walked in the door. After Nanny J took her leave a short time later, the boys and I played a little bit around the house before settling in front of the TV for a little while. M-lady arrived home and got started on dinner, and we all ate well.

After dinner, we all watched a little bit of the dancing from SYTYCD, alternated with scenes from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Buster would clap when he heard the audience clapping for the dancers, which was cute. Around 7:30 we started the bedtime routine.

Bud was a little reluctant during his bath, but overall the routine went pretty well. He was in bed around 8:30, and lights were out before 9:00. Bud elected to try a pull-up diaper tonight instead of the standard one, with the understanding that he would get up and use the potty during the night if he needed to. We'll see how that goes.

Buster has cried out a couple of times so far this evening, but put himself back to sleep pretty quickly each time.

Roughhousing

M-lady got up early with Buster this morning, apparently around 5:45. Bud got up around 8:00, and went looking for her. I rose about 10 minutes later, and helped with the kids for a bit before Nanny J arrived. Buster was his usual chipper self this morning, and Bud was in a cuddly and cooperative mood as well.

They went to the park today, although Friend K couldn't make their originally scheduled playdate. Bud reported having a good time nonetheless.

I got home right around 5:15, and both kids were anxious to play with me. Nanny J took her leave, and I wrestled with the kids a bit in the living room. After we all got sufficiently worked up, we sat down in front of the TV to cool off a bit. M-lady arrived home a few minutes later and got started on dinner.

Both kids ate well, and after dinner Bud and I headed outside to work on my workbench and hang out in the garage. Eventually I kicked a soccer ball with him around the front yard, but he was getting tired and eventually had a little meltdown. We came inside and got started on a bath.

The bedtime routine was pretty standard, and Bud was asleep shortly after the lights went out around 8:30. Buster seemed to go to sleep quickly tonight as well, and both kids have slept quietly so far. It's really nice that they're both generally sleeping through the night (and not taken for granted).

Uneventful

Bud got me out of bed around 3:00 this morning, and I slept with him in his bed until about 5:00. He then woke at about 7:45, and I got up with him to get him dressed and fed. Buster was up a short time later, and waited patiently for M-lady to come get him.

We all had a pretty mellow morning, and M-lady and I headed to work around 9:00. The kids went to the library with Nanny J today, and Bud had a good time. He reported enjoying looking at the aquarium.

M-lady got home first and took the kids from Nanny J, and I managed to arrive home around 5:45. Everyone was chipper, and we hung out together for a few minutes before getting started on dinner. Buster ate well, as usual, and Bud decided to skip most of his dinner. After we'd eaten, I played some Lego Star Wars with Bud as Buster looked on.

Buster really likes to have a controller as we play video games, but I only have two Xbox controllers. So I've started giving him an empty steering wheel attachment for the Wii controller, and he seems to have a good time with that. He imitates Bud and me, trying to manipulate the controller while keeping his eyes on the screen.

Bud and I headed upstairs for a bath around 7:30, and had a pretty regular bedtime routine. The lights were out around 8:30, and Bud was asleep a short time later. Both kids have slept quietly so far.

Shout out to RuggerMom... Happy Birthday!

An Early Evening

Buster was up this morning around 8:00, and M-lady got up with him. He wouldn't let her change his diaper until he finished pooping, and I helped out with that operation at about 8:20.

He was pretty chipper during the morning as M-lady and I got ready for work. Bud woke closer to 8:45, as Nanny J was arriving. I helped Bud get dressed, and then deposited him downstairs and headed for the office.

Bud had a playdate this afternoon with Friend M. Friend M's mom picked him up, and then went over to Friend M's house for a bit. Bud was somewhat hazy on the details, but he definitely had a good time.

I arrived home a short time after Bud got home, and he played in the office with me for a little while before it was time for Nanny J to go. We headed downstairs and picked up Buster, who'd managed to skip his afternoon nap. The three of us watched a few minutes of TV before Bud started complaining of hunger and I got started on dinner.

Bud and Buster split an omelet, and then Bud munched on some grapes and a hotdog. M-lady arrived home while we were eating, and helped clean up while I watched some TV with Bud.

Around 7:00, we headed upstairs for a bath, and the bedtime routine got rolling. Bud was in bed around 8:00, and asleep by 8:30. It ended up being a very early night. Buster fell asleep pretty early, as well, largely due to the missed nap.

Buster has learned to nod to indicate 'yes', and M-lady mentioned that he made some comically large nods today to show agreement. I haven't seen it yet, but I'll see if he'll nod for me tomorrow.

Betting Man

Buster woke this morning a little after 7:00, and I got up with him. He had a poopy diaper, so I got him cleaned up and we spent some time hanging out in the hexagon, mostly reading stories. He really likes having books read to him, but since he's mostly looking at the pictures, he tends to turn the pages faster than I can read them.

A little after 8:00, I handed Buster off to M-lady, and snoozed for a bit. While I was asleep, Bud woke. He noted that I was asleep, and wandered into the office to play with lego for a while before calling to M-lady for help with pooping. I also got up to help, and then took Buster and set him down for a nap.

Bud watched a little bit of TV with M-lady, and then got himself dressed. As lunchtime approached, we started getting ready to go visit some friends. Buster kept on sleeping, though, so we left a little late. When we arrived, Bud played super-shy for a while, despite the efforts of Friend K, who really wanted Bud to play with her. Buster was a little shy, but found some toys to play with and started exploring before too long.

We had pizza for lunch, and Buster munched a bit as well. After playing in the backyard for a little while, we packed up and headed for home around 2:30ish. Buster remained awake on the drive home (waving 'bye' most of the way), but went down for his nap as soon as we got home. I napped a bit as well, and M-lady and Bud chilled out in front of the TV for a while.

A little before 5:00 I headed off to Fry's with Bud to pick up some printer ink, and Buster was awake by the time we returned. M-lady dashed out to the grocery store, and while she was out I got started on dinner. Bud canned the idea of pasta, so I made grilled cheese sandwiches. Bud ate about half of his, and then Buster ate half of mine.

Bud helped M-lady unload groceries when she returned, and discovered that M-lady had purchased a bag of mini Twix bars. Bud, who hasn't had Twix before, nevertheless recognized what must be in the bag, and said, "I bet I'll like these a whole lot."

After dinner we had a nice video chat with Grandma W and Granddad B, although the kids seemed often more interested in running around and playing than chatting with the grandparents. The conversation did go a little late, though, and I tried to fasttrack the bedtime routine after the call.

Bud was pretty cooperative, but the lights didn't go out until 9:00. Bud fell asleep a bit later. Buster was asleep earlier, and both kids have slept quietly so far.

Sushi For Everybody

Buster was up around 7:00 again this morning, and M-lady was up with him for the first hour. She handed him over to me around 8:00, and we hung out together in the hexagon until about 8:30. At that point we headed downstairs to get some breakfast.

Bud joined us a short time later, and he had some breakfast as well before we headed upstairs again to get dressed, around 9:00. M-lady got up to take the kids at that point, and I headed back to bed for a little while. She got the kids dressed, and got Bud ready to go for their outing.

A little before 10:00 I got up and took Buster, while M-lady took Bud out to the Jungle to meet up with Friend J. Buster took about a 30 minute morning nap, and then woke with a poopy diaper. After I got him cleaned up, we played together for a while before having some lunch, and then reading some stories together before M-lady and Bud arrived home.

They'd had a good time a the Jungle, and Bud had eaten quite a bit in the way of snackage, so wasn't immediately ready to have some lunch. After they settled in a little bit, I got myself ready to head out and went to Home Depot to pick up a few items. Bud elected to not come with me, but rather hung out with M-lady and Buster, and eventually had some lunch.

When I got back, Buster still hadn't had his afternoon nap, and so M-lady worked on putting him down while I played outside with Bud for a while. We had a good time together, and Bud wasn't too upset when it was time to head inside. We found Buster had napped while we were out, and was just getting up. M-lady placed an order for take-out sushi, and Bud and I headed out to pick it up.

We all had a good dinner. Buster munched on a carrot roll, and then deliberately and carefully squashed a cucumber roll with his sippy cup. Bud decided to try some of my 'fishy' sushi, and liked the unagi nigiri, but didn't like the teka maki very much. We were proud of him for trying new things on his own initiative, though.

After dinner, I showered with both the boys. I hadn't showered with Buster for a long time, and he's too big now to hold for the duration, so we sat on the floor. He was really good about sitting down the whole time, and we had a good time playing in the water. When Buster was finished up, Bud took his place. Bud has also gotten much better about bathing recently: he doesn't mind getting water in his face and he's much less picky about the water temperature.

After the shower we got into PJs, and played some Lego Indiana Jones for a little while. Bud helped M-lady bake a pie while I did some minor preventative maintenance to the coffee table, and then it was about time to head for bed. Bud had a snack and we did the usual bedtime routine, with the light going out a little bit before 9:00. Bud was asleep a short time later.

Bud's cough is almost gone, which is nice. The humidifier is still running in his room tonight, but this is probably the last night for it. Buster was asleep shortly after 8:30, but has been a little restless this evening, waking a few times. He puts himself back to sleep pretty quickly when one of us sits down on the couch next to his crib, though. I guess he just wants to make sure we're still there.

Dentist Appointment

Buster was up around 7:00ish this morning, and M-lady got up with him. I rose around 8:00ish, and Bud was up around 8:30. I managed to get Bud dressed before we headed downstairs to get some breakfast, and M-lady and I left for work.

Buster is drinking out of sippy cups now exclusively. We are officially done with bottles! Yay! We've actually reclaimed quite a bit of counter space that was previously devoted to the bottle drying rack.

I returned from work early, around 2:00, and checked email before loading Bud into the car and heading off to his dentist appointment. He sat on my lap in the waiting room, looking at pictures in the magazines they had there while we waited.

He did really well, and sat in the exam chair by himself this time. They made an attempt at doing x-rays, and Bud made a good effort, but couldn't close his mouth comfortably around the films. They didn't push it, though, and we'll plan on trying for x-rays again next time. I'm sort of surprised they don't have 'child-sized' films.

Bud was great while the dentist cleaned his teeth, and was happy to get a toothbrush, some floss, and a toy at the end. He picked out a little pull-back car, and had a lot of fun playing with it when we got home. I worked for about an hour before resting for a few minutes before M-lady arrived home and Nanny J left.

The boys and I headed downstairs and watched some Clone Wars before getting started on dinner. Both kids ate well, and Buster really packed it away, probably eating more than he should have. He also discovered a fun game toward the end of the meal. M-lady had stacked some cereal on top of his cup, which all fell into his lap when he drank from the cup. Buster proceeded to retrieve all the cereal and put it back on top of the cup. Then he drank from it again, giggled, and started over.

After dinner Bud and I played a little bit of Lego Indiana Jones before starting on the bath and rest of the bedtime routine. Bud was pretty good about going to bed, but got into bed a little late, and didn't fall asleep until a little after 9:00. Buster got to sleep a little earlier. Buster woke once in the evening, but fell asleep again on his own before we could go check on him. Bud's cough has mostly disappeared.

Learning the Music

Both kids slept well through the night. Buster made some noise around 6:00, and M-lady slept in his room with him until about 7:30. Bud didn't actually get up until about 8:30. I helped get Bud dressed and got him some breakfast before heading to work.

The kids seem to have had a good day, and Bud told me about the sandwich he had for lunch. It sounded like Nanny J made a turkey melt for him, and he really liked it. Both kids were happy to see me when I got home.

We said goodbye to Nanny J, and sat down to watch some of the animated Clone Wars series. As the familiar theme music started up, Buster did his best to sing along, which was really cute.

We watched for a little while, and then got started on preparing some corn on the cob to go along with the dinner that Nanny J prepared. Bud ate a big dinner, and had an otter pop afterward. Buster ate pretty well, too. He's often insisting on feeding himself now, and not interested in eating food off a spoon that he could pick up with his fingers.

After dinner Bud and I worked in the garage for a little while, and then took Buster and went for a short walk around the block together. Buster likes riding on my shoulders, but hasn't learned to hold onto my head yet, so I have to hang on to his arms while he sits up there, which is not super comfortable. I'm sure he'll figure it out soon, though.

When we got home, Bud had his bath, and we did a pretty straightforward bedtime routine. Bud was in bed shortly after 8:30, and lights were out around 8:45. Both kids have slept soundly so far this evening.

Spoon

Bud got me out of bed this morning around 5:30, but went back to sleep as I lay with him in his bed for a while. Buster woke around 8:00, and Bud got up around 8:30. We had a pretty standard morning, and M-lady and I were able to head to work around 9:00.

The kids apparently had a good day, although Bud got a little frustrated with Buster at one point when Buster was getting tired and frustrated. They had an altercation, which Nanny J alerted us to when we got home. Both kids are fine, but we had a chat and a hug with Bud when we got home.

Bud was excited to see me home, and both kids followed me as I dropped my stuff. We ended up playing a little bit in M-lady's and my room, where we all piled onto the bed to hang out a little bit. M-lady found us there when she got home a short time later.

We all had a good dinner, and Buster had a great time playing with a bowl and spoon. He made a pretty good mess, but had fun. Bud ate well at dinner time, and had an otter pop afterward. The boys and I watched a little bit of Hopla before starting the bedtime routine.

Bud had a good bath, and a huge snack before getting into bed. He didn't want the lights to turn out at 9:00, but fell asleep pretty quickly. Buster also went to sleep without too much trouble, and both kids have slept quietly so far this evening. We're still using a humidifier in Bud's room, as he still had that lingering cough, but it seems to be getting better.

Excitement

Buster woke a little before 6:00, and M-lady got him to go back to sleep by sleeping with him in his room. Bud came and woke me around 7:00, and after hanging out with him in his room for about five minutes, I got up and started getting ready to go back to my conference.

Bud was helpful while I got ready, and I got him some breakfast before I hit the road at about 7:30. Buster was just waking up as I headed out the door. the kids had a good morning with M-lady, who stayed home with them an extra hour before Nanny J arrived, since both M-lady and I wouldn't be getting home until a little later in the evening. They watched some dance videos together while M-lady watched the company meeting.

The kids had a good day with Nanny J. Bud had his bath with her, which makes the evening much more pleasant. M-lady arrived home around 6:30, and both kids were really excited to see her. Bud apparently ran out to greet M-lady as she drove into the garage, and Buster would have if the door hadn't been in his way.

I arrived home around 7:30, and found the kids again excited to see me after they'd eaten dinner with M-lady. Bud apparently ate a huge quantity of broccoli, and little bit of chicken, and Buster ate a large dinner as well. Bud wanted my attention as soon as I came in the door.

The kids snacked while I had my dinner, and I spent some time hanging out with Bud before we headed upstairs to get ready for bed. Bud was a little slow getting to bed, but we turned out the lights before 9:00. Buster got to bed a little earlier, and both kids have slept well so far this evening.

I'm looking forward to being home at the usual time tomorrow, and getting to spend a full evening with the kids.

Deferring Dinner

I was gone for most of the day, and left for the conference I'm attending at about 7:00 this morning. Both kids were still asleep when I left, and they slept until about 8:00. M-lady got up with the kids, and they had a good morning together before Nanny J arrived. Nanny J took the kids to the park in the morning, and Bud met his Friend M there in a pre-arranged play-date. They had a great time playing together, apparently, chasing each other around the playground.

M-lady got home in time to get the kids, and I arrived home around 6:00. Buster was chowing on dinner, and I joined him and M-lady. Bud deferred his dinner again, but hung out with us, asking us about our days.

After dinner, I played with both kids for a little while. I offered to play a video game with Bud after he finished his dinner, but he wasn't interested in eating. So Bud and Buster and I all played together. We had fun chasing each other around the house a bit before it was time to start on the bedtime routine. I managed Bud through a bath, which went well, as M-lady took Buster for a while and watched some dance videos on the computer.

Bud ate most of his dinner after his bath, and then we headed up stairs to read a story and go to bed. He was in bed a little earlier than usual tonight, and asleep by about 8:30. Buster also went down pretty early, and both kids have slept well so far this evening.

Day Trip

Buster was up this morning around 7:45, and I got up with him. I went ahead and changed his diaper and got him dressed, and we hung out in the hexagon for a little while. Bud found us there, and we spent a little time in the office before all heading downstairs to have some breakfast and watch some TV.

Around 9:03 I handed the kids off to M-lady, and napped for a bit longer than I had intended. They had a mellow morning, and M-lady handed Buster over to me around 11:00 to put down for his morning nap. He was pretty tired, and went down very quickly.

Bud and I loaded up in the car and hit the road. I had to run an errand up in San Francisco, and Bud elected to come with me. He was great during the drive up, and we chatted about this and that. When we arrived, he was anxious to get to a bathroom, so we ran off and got that taken care of after getting the car parked.

We had a nice lunch, wandered through Yerba Buena Gardens, and I got my quick errand handled. Then we wandered down to Market Street, where Bud marveled at the tall buildings before we headed back to the car and came home. Bud was again great on the drive home, and we had a nice chat again.

Buster hadn't napped again in the afternoon, so was starting to get a little grumpy when we got home. Nevertheless, we were able to have a nice video chat with Grandma W and Granddad B, and both kids interacted pretty well. After the call, I was able to feed Buster his afternoon snack and put him down for his nap in short order.

Bud and I were able to hook up with LR again for some online gaming, and had a good time. Bud was excited to play some Burnout 3, which he's doing very well with. It's great to see him trying a new type of game, and spend effort learning how to play.

We had French Toast for dinner, which both kids gobbled up. After dinner, I hung out with Bud for a little bit before starting a pretty standard bedtime routine. Bud was in bed around 8:40, and asleep by about 9:00. Buster had a very restless evening, waking a number of times before 10:30. He would put himself to sleep if there was someone in the room with him, though. I sat with him for a while at 10:30, and he has slept peacefully since then.

No Plans Saturday

Buster woke at about 5:00 this morning, but M-lady managed to get him to go back to sleep. I got up with Bud a little bit before 8:00, and took Buster from M-lady at that point. Bud and Buster and I played in the office until a bit after 8:30, at which point M-lady got up to take the kids downstairs to breakfast, and I got back in bed and napped until about 10:00.

At that point, M-lady handed Buster over to me, and I put him down for a nap. The process only took about 15 minutes, and I was able to go back to bed and snooze until nearly 11:00, when Buster woke up again.

I got up and after getting dressed and playing with Bud and Buster for a few minutes got started on grilling some hot dogs for lunch. We all had some, including Buster, who ate an entire dog.

After lunch, I took Bud out for an errand. We were headed to the bike shop, and Bud asked if we could get Slurpees. I told him if he was good at the bike shop and Home Depot, we'd stop for Slurpees on the way home. He fulfilled his end of the deal, so we swung over to 7-Eleven. He was pretty happy.

I helped put Buster down for his afternoon nap a short time after we got home, and M-lady colored with Bud while I worked in the garage for a little while. Buster didn't take a long afternoon nap either, but didn't seem to fussy for the rest of the day.

Bud and I played online with Cousin LR for a bit. RuggerMom and family suggested trying Burnout 3, an older driving game for the Xbox which basically has crashing as the purpose rather than the punishment. Bud was really excited about it, so I expect we'll play some more of that going forward.

Bud and I went out to pick up some dinner, and he had a minor meltdown when we got home. He sulked in his room for a bit as the rest of us ate, but had some dinner a short time later. After dinner, we played together a little bit before settling in to watch the remainder of Cars.

Bud was good through the bedtime routine, and was in bed before 8:30. Both kids slept well through the evening.

Just as I was sitting down to write this post, Bud woke, having vomited in his bed again due to coughing. We're still running the humidifier in his room at night, but the cough is still plaguing him. Hopefully it won't last too much longer. M-lady and I got Bud cleaned up and back into bed, where he went back to sleep quickly.

Last Day Of School

The kids slept reasonably well, and Buster was up around 7:00ish. Bud got me out of bed around 7:15, but I managed to get him to chill with me in his bed until nearly 8:00. We did the usual morning routine for school, except that we got him dressed in swim trunks, his swim shirt, and water shoes. M-lady got him all sunscreened before we headed out the door.

Today was Bud's last day of 3's preschool, and they were celebrating with a 'water day'. I guess they had some fountains and sprinklers for the kids to play with/in during the day. I arrived to pick Bud up from school a few minutes early, and found all the kids dry and playing inside. The water fun was over. Bud was playing with puzzles with some of his friends, but he kind of glommed on to me as soon as he discovered I was there.

The kids cleaned up and did a final circle time, and then posed for one last class picture. I couldn't convince Bud to pose for individual pics with his teachers, so we headed home. I left for work shortly after getting Bud settled at home with Nanny J and Buster, who were having some lunch.

M-lady got home before I did, and everyone seemed happy to see me when I got home. We got dinner going, and everyone ate pretty well. After dinner I played a little bit of Rock Band with Bud, but Buster found the characters a bit scary.

We switched to watching the movie Cars, which used to be Bud's favorite. Interestingly, he really didn't remember it at all. He enjoyed it more and understood more of it than he used to.

We watched more of the movie than we probably should have, and had a late snack and a quick shower before bed, but Bud wasn't in bed until about 9:00. He was asleep before too long after that. Buster also went to sleep reasonably quickly, and both kids have slept quietly so far tonight.

Running Laps

Bud woke up once during the night at about 3:30, but went right back to sleep after I helped him find his blanky. Buster was up around 7:15 this morning, and M-lady changed him out of a poopy diaper. I got up around 8:00ish, and got myself ready to go. M-lady took off for work a little early, so I hung out with Bud and Buster for a bit before Nanny J arrived. I headed to work after getting Bud set up with some breakfast.

The kids seem to have had a good day. M-lady arrived home first, and everyone was eating dinner when I arrived home a little after 6:00. We all had a good meal, and I tromped off to play with the boys a little afterward.

Buster, as Bud used to, really likes the "I'm gonna get you!" game. He'll run off in a random direction, sometimes towards me, and I tickle him. There's a lot of giggling involved. I chased him around the house a little, and eventually headed upstairs to the office to hang out, as Bud wanted to show me the Lego he was working on.

I had Buster as well, so the two of us sat in the hexagon as Bud played with his Lego. I sat in the center of the hexagon as Buster ran laps around me, apparently having a great time.

After a bit, the three of us sat in front of the computer, watching some Sesame Street videos before starting on the bedtime routine. I had a snack with Bud, got him into the bath, and then into bed.

Bud was good through the bedtime routine, and asleep before 9:00. Buster also went to sleep pretty well, and has slept solidly so far this evening.

Wet Totoro

Buster was up this morning a bit early, and M-lady got up with him. She handed him off to me a bit before 8:00, around the same time Bud was getting up. I kept an eye on Buster while helping to get Bud dressed. Buster would occasionally run off, apparently with the sole goal of making me chase him, as he giggled and kept running until I nabbed him (and tickled him a little).

After getting Bud and myself dressed, we headed downstairs to get some breakfast and make sure we were all ready for school. Bud had 'Park Day' at school today, as part of the year end festivities. When he was ready to go, I took him and dropped him off at a park near the school, where the teachers were waiting. I left Bud happily playing on a see-saw with some of his classmates.

The kids apparently had a good day, and were both happy to see me when I got home around 5:00. We hung out together with Nanny J for a few minutes before she left, and then got into a lightsaber battle. After wearing myself out with that, we sat down in front of the TV to watch a little bit more of My Neighbor Totoro.

Bud really enjoyed the movie this time around. He used to not like the end, where Mei got lost and tensions were high (or at least, as high as they get in the movie). He asked a number of times about what was happening, and I assured him things turned out well. Buster liked all of it except for Totoro himself. Totoro is a bit loud, and Buster was a bit scared by his voice. Buster did like the image of Totoro waiting in the rain for the bus, though.

M-lady arrived home and prepared dinner, which was really nice. Everyone ate well, and after dinner Bud and I finished watching the movie before getting started on the bedtime routine. Bud was cooperative throughout, which was nice. He was in bed by 8:30, and asleep soon afterward.

Buster was a bit restless in the evening, waking a few times screaming. He was easily soothed by either M-lady's or my presence, but wasn't staying asleep for more than five minutes if we left. After about 10:30 he got into a deeper sleep, and has been quiet since then.

I seem to have picked up a little bit of the cough that Bud has. Hopefully it will pass quickly. I think a full night of sleep will help as much as anything.

Forgotten Movie

Buster was up around 7:00 this morning, and M-lady got up with him. Bud wandered into the room a little before 7:30, and decided to join me in bed for about half an hour. At about 8:00, we got up, and joined M-lady and Buster.

Buster has started climbing a little bit. He's gotten up on the coffee table, step stools, etc., so when he's hanging out in his crib, we have to raise the side now. Pretty soon we'll have to take the bumpers off the side of his crib, and then stop putting things in the crib which he could stand on. And even that might not stop him.

I took Buster downstairs as Nanny J arrived, and they got some breakfast together. M-lady took Bud downstairs for breakfast as I was heading to work.

They apparently made an attempt to go to the library today, but the library was closed. It looks like they're cutting back hours due to budget constraints.

M-lady got home first, and the family was having dinner when I got home a little after 6:00. Buster ate a huge amount of broccoli. Bud ate some broccoli, but not much else. After dinner, Bud and I took a look at an Atlas and I spent a little while trying to explain time zones, and that it was already past Cousing LR's bedtime, since he's three hours ahead of us. I think Bud generally got the idea, but it will probably take some reiteration.

After reading the book for a while, we turned on My Neighbor Totoro. Bud was thoroughly drawn in, and even though we used to watch the movie pretty regularly, he didn't remember any of it. He was really disappointed when we stopped to start the bedtime routine and take a bath.

Bud was reasonably well behaved through the bedtime routine, but ended up having a huge snack since he didn't have much dinner. I was able to keep the snack mostly healthy. Bud was in bed around 8:45, and asleep just before 9:00. He woke once near midnight with his coughing, but went back to sleep after some soothing.

Buster went to sleep around the same time, and has slept quietly so far. He's been restless shortly after midnight each night for a while now. Hopefully that pattern breaks soon.

Oatmeal

Buster woke a few times during the night, and M-lady and I took turns soothing him. It usually didn't take long to get him back to sleep, but he did wake two or three times.

He was up for good a bit before 8:00, and Bud was up around that time as well. I managed to snooze until a few minutes after 8:00, at which point I got up to help out with Buster for a bit. The morning was pretty standard, with a very chipper Buster, and an effort to keep Bud on track to get out the door for school at 8:45.

I took Bud to school without fuss, and he had a good day there. It's his last week of school, so he has a park day on Wednesday and some sort of 'Water Day' on Friday. I suspect he'll be getting wet.

Buster had a good day with Nanny J, and both kids were happy to see me when I got home a little after 5:00. In fact, the three of us engaged in a lightsaber battle for a few minutes before Nanny J took her leave. After she left, the three of us hung out in the office for a little bit, first in the hexagon, and then in front of the computer checking out Sesame Street for a little while.

We eventually headed downstairs and got started on dinner. Bud requested oatmeal, to my surprise, as he's rejected it before when I've offered it. I think he wanted to try it since Bert likes it so much. He had about half a bowl.

Buster and I shared some scrambled eggs. M-lady arrived home as we were eating, and Buster ate a portion of her dinner as well. So he didn't do too badly.

After dinner I snoozed on the couch for about 30 minutes, and Bud kept me company. When I came to, we watched some of Star Wars Episode I before starting the bedtime routine. Bud was pretty good through the routine, and got in the bath OK, but ended up eating a huge snack before bed. He clearly didn't eat enough at dinner time.

Both kids were asleep before 9:00, and have slept soundly so far. Here's to a quieter night than last night.
